At Kippis, our story begins in the heart of Finland, where the tradition of the long drink has been a beloved part of Finnish culture for decades. Inspired by this rich heritage, we set out to create a drink that pays homage to our roots while embracing a contemporary twist.

Our Heritage

The Finnish long drink originated in the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics, crafted to welcome the world with a refreshing and easy-to-enjoy beverage. At Kippis, we carry forward this tradition with pride, using only the finest ingredients to deliver a taste that captures the spirit of Finland.

Our Vision

Our mission is to share the joy of the Finnish long drink with the world, one can at a time. We believe in the power of good times, great flavours, and even better company. Kippis is more than just a drink; it’s a celebration of life, friendship, and tradition.

Kippis Long Drink is the brainchild of Miselle and Mike, embracing the true spirit of wellbeing through a connection to nature, the outdoors, adventure, and genuine togetherness.

Miselle was born and raised close to the Arctic Circle in Northern Finland, sharing a lifelong bond with the luxury of unspoiled Finnish nature, summers of midnight sun, and winters of endless polar nights with Northern Lights, saunas and wild ice swimming.

Mike’s a normal Aussie mate from Sydney who loves adventuring in the mountains and sailing and surfing the oceans.

When Miselle and Mike’s paths crossed and took them on adventures to Finland, Mike quickly learned about the long drink, aka “lonkero”, often referred to as the National Drink of Finland, and what the nation has been drinking for decades.

Mike too fell in love with the crisp, refreshing drink, soon realizing it was never only about the drink, but about the wholesome experience of the authentic and quirky Finnish people, their pride in their roots, culture, and community, and their “sisu”, the Finnish art of courage and resilience to surf life’s ebbs and flows.

Miselle had for years dreamed about bringing the long drink to Australia for Aussies to enjoy, and she never stopped talking about this. To the point her long drink dream became a known joke amongst her friends. Twists and turns along the way, and not always happy ones, in September 2023 Miselle faced the music and realised that the moment of truth was now or never. That was the point when Mike had enough of this dreaming too and grasped the only way to stop Miselle talking about it was to cause it to happen. By coincidence or destiny, the right troops arrived to help. A year later, Kippis Traditional Finnish Long Drink was born. And this was only the beginning of the endless chats about the wonderful life of Kippis!
